Insurance First For Radical
5th February 2010
Competition Car Insurance has today been confirmed as the new title sponsor for the Radical UK Cup, ten weeks ahead of the first round of 2010 at Rockingham.
Radical’s longstanding insurance partner will be supporting the eight-round enduro series throughout 2010, bringing many benefits for the competitors. Central to this is a unique, preferential insurance package for all Radical competitors. Available only to Radical, drivers can sign-up for cover on the day of the event, at the circuit, removing the need for pre-event paperwork, inconvenience and payment.
All registered Competition Car Insurance Radical UK Cup drivers will also receive high-quality series paddock jackets and merchandise as part of the deal, as well as providing specialist championship awards.
Suspension experts Intrax will also be sponsoring the series, bringing their expertise and specialist damper dyno testing and setup equipment to selected rounds, to help Radical drivers get the best performance from their cars.
Over half the grid spots have already been filled, with new drivers including former Caterham racers John Lord and Laurence Wilkins, competing this year in an SR8. The hotly-contested Supersports class sees a raft of SR3 drivers joining the fray, including 360 Racing’s two new partnership of Mark Smithson/Grant Sharman, and Sami Suomenin/Luigi Gatti. Experienced motorcycle racer, Chris Hillaby will be contesting the UK Cup alongside the Quaife Radical Clubmans Cup, competing with Motorbase Performance, a team also associated with the BTCC and Porsche Carrera Cup.
“It’s great news that Radical has attracted another high-profile company from the motorsports industry, to support Radical’s premier domestic series,” said Mick Hyde, Radical co-founder. “We’ve worked closely with Competition Car Insurance for a number of years, who have always provided our customers with a high standard of service.
“All funds that CCI are providing are being ploughed straight into the championship for the benefit of the competitors. This, and our unique insurance partnership, means that the Radical UK Cup is an even more attractive series than ever before.”
